Abstract
This article describes the disaster and disaster curriculum projects in schools. For this purpose, the author explores the literature review of issue from the perspectives of sociology. As a disaster-prone country, Indonesia should have been implementing disaster-based curriculum in schools. The curriculum must be considered as a “project for good deeds” to support education fo sustainable development by making use of principles such as relevance, effectivity, efficiency, and flexibility. The curriculum should also refer to the general principles of the PRB as describes explixitly in the Hyogo framework for Action. The perpose of this disaster curriculum project is to realize a new more critical community that is able to understand disaster in total; why disaster, how to face disasters, and what to do when disaster come. The overall expectation of this idea is to save the live Indonesian society from greater disaster risks and harms in the future.
