Abstract

Pengaruh Pemberian Jus Kulit Apel Rome Beauty terhadap Penuruan Kadar LDL Kolesterol (Studi Eksperimen pada Tikus Putih (Rattus norvegicus) yang Mengalami Hiperkolesterol). Menurut perkiraan WHO (2016) sekitar 7,4 juta orang meninggal akibat penyakit jantung koroner. American Heart Association (2002) mengatakan bahwa hiperkolesterolemia merupakan salah satu faktor resiko yang dapat mengakibatkan terjadinya penyakit jantung koroner (PJK) (Mcrae, 2006). LDL merupakan salah satu parameter hiperkolesterol. Apel merupakan salah satu buah yang mengandung antioksidan tinggi yang dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian jus kulit apel Rome beauty terhadap penuruan kadar kolesterol LDL tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) hiperkolesterol. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian pretest-postest control group design dengan menggunakan tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) sebagai hewan coba. Besar sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 25 tikus yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok yaitu satu kelompok kontrol negatif, satu kelompok pra perlakuan, dan tiga kelompok perlakuan. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji analisis One Way Annova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada pengaruh pemberian jus kulit apel Rome beauty terhadap penuruan kadar LDL kolesterol tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) yang mengalami hiperkolesterol. Penurunan kadar LDL kolesterol tertinggi terjadi pada kelompok P3 yaitu dengan kadar LDL kolesterol rata-rata sebesar 25,6 mg/dL. American Heart Association (2002) says that hypercholesterolemia is one of the risk factors that can cause coronary heart disease (CHD) (Mcrae, 2006). LDL is one of the parameters of hypercholesterolemia. Apples are one kind of fruits that contain high antioxidants that can decrease cholesterol levels. This study aimed to determine the effect of Rome beauty apple peels juice to reduce LDL cholesterol levels of Hypercholesterolemic White Rat (Rattus norvegicus). This study used pretest-postest control group design method and used white rat (Rattus norvegicus) as experimental animal. The population were 25 rats divided into 5 groups: one negative control group, one pretreatment group, and three treatment groups. The data of this study was analyzed using One Way Annova analysis. The results show that there was effect of Rome beauty apple peels juice to reduce LDL cholesterol levels of hypercholesterolemic white rat (Rattus norvegicus). Decreasing LDL cholesterol levels highest in P3, the mean LDL cholesterol of this group is 25,6 mg/dL. Keywords : Apple peels juice, hypercholesterolemic.
