Abstract

Research in the form of this thesis is entitled: Legal Protection Model in Electronic Commerce Consumers. The purpose of the study was to find out and analyze the validity of contracts in electronic commerce according to the Information and Electronic Transaction Act and to find out and analyze consumer legal protection models in electronic commerce. Legal research using statute approach. The results of the research are to determine the validity of the sale and purchase transaction through electronic commerce the principle of lex specialis derogat legi generalis where Burgerlijk Wetbook as lex generalis, while the Information and Electronic Transaction Act as lex specialis. The Information and Electronic Transaction Act only accommodates agreement of parties and certain objects, while the requirements for the parties' ability and the allowed reasons have not been accommodated. The consumer legal protection model in electronic commerce is a payment system using the authenticity certification method, and implements Secure Socket Layer (SSL) which is a protocol that makes a protective network between the card holder's browser and the merchant's server, so that the hijacker or attacker cannot tap or hijack information that flows on the network.
