Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to assess the effects of Cisplatin induction and bangun-bangun leaf extract (Coleous amboinicus). A total of 18 rats were used for this study. The design used in this research was completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 6 repetitions. The treatments were P0 (control), P1 (induced by 7mg / kg body weight of cisplatin) on the fourth day itraperitonially, CMC Na1% suspension every day, and P2 (given 100mg/kg body weight of bangun-bangun leaf extracts up orally every day and on the fourth day induced by 7mg/kg body weight of cisplatin. Histopathology were using Mallory Azan staining method . The data was obtained and analyzed using the Kruskal wallis test. Then followed by the Mann Whitney test using SPSS version 20. The results of Kruskal Wallis test, congestion P = 0,002, hemorhagic P = 0,002, and vasculitis P = 0,003 had a significant value (significantly different P <0,05). Result of Mann Whitney Test test, Congestion P0 with P1 (P = 0,002) was significant, P0 with P2 (P = 0,005) was significant, and P1 with P2 (P = 0,092) was not significant. As for hemoraghi P0 with P1 (P = 0,001) was significant, P0 with P2 (P = 0.007) was significant, and P1 with P2 (P = 0,083) was not significant. While vasculitis P0 with P1 (P = 0,001) was significant, P0 with P2 (P = 0,138) was not significant, and P1 with P2 (P = 0,019) was significant. From all of the data, it was concluded that Cisplatin induction and bangun-bangun leaf extracts (Coleus amboinicus) had an effect on the histopathological picture of white rats (Rattus norvegicus) is liver with Mallory Azan staining method. The bangun-bangun leaf extract was not significant to reduce congestion and hemorhage damage. But it was significant to reduce vasculitis.
