Abstract
The reliance of Indonesian through mistycal goods which have magical power has been exist. Surabayanese can think rationally, but certain people still believe in mystical goods and it’s proved by the exsistance of “Uka-uka” community. The formulas of this research are to find out the reason why do the members of “Uka-uka” community believe in mystical goods, the reliance behaviour that the members do to mystical goods, and the comprehend of “Uka-uka” community’s members to the reliance behaviour. This research uses qualitative methodology and uses entnography approachment. The collecting data is by doing directly and depth interview with the informants. While the theories use in this research are Social Action theory from Max Weber and Symbolic Interactionism theory from Herbert Blummer. The result of this reseach shows that the member of “Uka-uka” community still believe that there is a power in the mystical goods from their own experiences, family and also friends. Hence the behaviours that they must do just like bringing the mysctical goods wherever they go, cleaning up the mystical goods, keeping the mystical goods in the special place, using the mystical goods as problem solver and doing the other special behaviours just like giving the offering that consist of flowers, jafaron oil and incense. They consider that the mystical goods are alive and have magical power.
