Abstract

Salmonellosis merupakan zcmosis yang disebabkan Oleh bakteri Salmonella sp. dan dapat menyebabkan gangguan pada berbagai organ ayam broiler, termasuk paru-paru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keberadaan Salmonella sp. serta mengetahui gambaran histopatologi paru-paru ayam broiler (Gallus gallus domesticus) yang bergejala salmonellosis. Sampel diperoleh dari ayam broiler dan tidak bergejala salmonellosis di Pasar Wonokromo Surabaya. Identifikasi bakteri dilakukan melalui tahap pre-enrichment pada media Buffered Peptone Water (BPW), enrichment menggunakan media Rappaport-Vassiliadis (RV), isolasi pada media Xylose Lysine Deoxycholate (XLD), pewarnaan Gram, Serta uji biokimia TSIA, Urease, SIM, MR, dan VP. Pemeriksaan histopatologi paru-paru dilakukan menggunakan pewarnaan Hematoksilin-Eosin (HE) dan dianalisis dengan metode skoring terhadap infiltrasi sel radang, hemoragi, dan nekrosis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ayam broiler bergejala salmonellosis positif terinfeksi Salmonella sp. dengan karakteristik koloni khas pada media XLD dan berbentuk batang Gram negatif. Pemeriksaan histopatologi menunjukkan adanya infiltrasi sel radang, hemoragi, kongesti, hiperemi, atelektasis, dan nekrosis pada jaringan paru-paru. Hasil skoring menunjukkan infiltrasi sel radang bernilai 4, hemoragi 10, dan nekrosis 6 yang termasuk kategori berat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa infeksi Salmonella sp. menyebabkan perubahan histopatologi pada paru-paru ayam broiler.
