Abstract
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis ektoparasit pada Ikan Nila (Oreochromis niloticus), mengingat meningkatnya produksi budidaya perikanan air tawar khususnya Ikan Nila dan masih kurangnya pengetahuan informasi pembudidaya ataupun penghobies mengenai infeksi ektoparasit. Penelitian ini menggunakan Ikan Nila (Oreochromis niloticus), sebagai indikator penelitian. Ikan yang sudah dibeli dimasukan ke dalam plastik yang telah berisi air dan oksigen. Dilakukan pemeriksaan secara makroskopis yaitu dengan mengamati secara langsung ektoparasit pada tubuh ikan, kemudian pemeriksaan secara mikroskopis dengan bantuan mikroskop. Sebelum dilakukan pemeriksaan mikroskopis ikan terlebih dahulu dimatikan dengan cara menusukkan jarum pada bagian medulla oblongata. Pemeriksaan mikroskopis dilakukan dengan mengerok atau scraping lendir (mukus) pada permukaan kulit, sirip, dan ekor ikan kemudian diletakkan pada object glass dan ditetesi aquadest lalu tutup dengan cover glass. Pemeriksaan bagian insang dilakukan dengan memotong insang ikan kemudian diletakkan pada object glass dan ditetesi aquadest lalu ditutup dengan cover glass. Selanjutnya dilakukan pemeriksaan dengan mikroskop perbesaran 400x kemudian diidentifikasi jenis-jenis ektoparasit apa saja yang ditemukan menggunakan panduan buku Anshary (2016). Kata Kunci : Ektoparasit, Ikan Nila, Pemeriksaan, Kulit (mukus), Insang ABSTRACT This research aimed to know types of ectoparasite on Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), given the increasing production of fresh water fish farming especially Tilapia fish and still lack of knowledge and information for farmers about ectoparasites infection. This research used Tilapia Fish (Oreochromis niloticus), as research indicator. The fish was placed in a plastic bag with water and oxygen in it. The macroscopic examination is done by directly observing ectoparasites in the fish body, and microscopic examination using a microscope. Before the microscopic examination fish first killed by inserting a needle in the medulla oblongata. Microscopic examination was performed by scraping skin (mucus) on the surface of the skin, fins, and fish tail and put on the object glass and put a few drops of aquadest and covered with cover glass. Examination of the gills was done by cutting the gills of the fish then placed on the object glass andput on the obbject glass aquadest then covered with a cover glass. And then it was examined using microscope with magnification of 400x to identified what types of ectoparasite was found according to guide book of Anshary (2016). Three species of ectoparasites that infected the Tilapia Fish were Trichodina sp., Dactylogyrus sp., and Gyrodactylus sp. The results of the data was processed with Chi Square Test and can be concluded that there is no correlation between the tilapia origin region and ectoparasite infestation.
