Abstract

Abstrak Asap rokok merupakan agen toksik yang kuat bagi ginjal. Peperomia pellucida merupakan tanaman herbal yang memiliki aktivitas antiinflamasi dan antioksidan yang berpotensi melindungi struktur ginjal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh ekstrak P. pellucida terhadap kerusakan ginjal pada tikus yang terpapar asap rokok secara histopatologi. Desain penelitian ini adalah post-test only control group design dengan menggunakan tikus wistar (Rattus norvegicus) sebagai hewan coba. Hasil Pemberian ekstrak P. pellucida pada kelompok P2 mampu menurunkan derajat kerusakan struktur ginjal meskipun belum sepenuhnya kembali pada kelompok kontrol. Pemberian ekstrak P. pellucida memberikan efek protektif terhadap kerusakan ginjal akibat paparan asap rokok. Penelitian ini mendukung potensi penggunaan P. pellucida sebagai agen nefroprotektor, namun diperlukan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk mengoptimalkan dosis dan memahami mekanisme molekuler proteksinya.
