Abstract

Industri kehutanan dan pengolahan kayu memiliki peran penting dalam perekonomian global karena menyediakan bahan baku utama untuk berbagai kebutuhan, seperti konstruksi, furnitur, dan produk rumah tangga. Namun, sektor ini menghadapi tantangan dalam proses produksi, termasuk kurangnya pemahaman dari pekerja baru. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, serious game menawarkan solusi berupa simulasi interaktif yang mensimulasikan sebuah proses produksi kayu, dari tahap awal hingga menjadi bahan baku siap pakai. Serious game memodelkan sistem nyata dan menunjukkan hubungan sebab-akibat yang menyerupai kondisi sebenarnya, sehingga pengguna dapat memahami dan mempraktikkan proses produksi tanpa risiko. Tujuan utamanya adalah membantu pekerja dan manajer produksi mempelajari alur kerja, dan meningkatkan keterampilan mereka dalam pengelolaan proses produksi lebih efektif. Seiring kemajuan teknologi, metode ini semakin relevan sebagai alat pelatihan modern yang mampu menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang mendalam. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan serious game lebih menarik dan mudah dipahami dibandingkan pelatihan konvensional. Selain mendukung pembelajaran, serious game juga membantu pengambilan keputusan dan mendorong pengelolaan sumber daya secara berkelanjutan dalam industri kehutanan dan pengolahan kayu. Kata Kunci: Industri kehutanan, pengolahan kayu, simulasi, serious game. ================================================================= The forestry and wood processing industry plays a vital role in the global economy, providing primary raw materials for various needs, such as construction, furniture, and household products. However, this sector faces challenges in the production process, including a lack of understanding among new workers. To address this, serious games offer a solution in the form of interactive simulations that simulate the wood production process, from the initial stages to the finished raw material. Serious games model real systems and demonstrate cause-and-effect relationships that mimic real-world conditions, allowing users to understand and practice the production process without risk. The primary goal is to help workers and production managers learn the workflow and improve their skills in managing the production process more effectively. As technology advances, this method is increasingly relevant as a modern training tool capable of creating immersive learning experiences. Results show that the use of serious games is more engaging and easier to understand than conventional training. In addition to supporting learning, serious games also facilitate decision-making and encourage sustainable resource management in the forestry and wood processing industry.
