Abstract

Prolapsus uteri merupakan kondisi di mana uterus ternak keluar melalui vagina saat mengalami perejanan, prolapsus uteri terjadi ketika uterus terdorong keluar melewati vagina hingga menggantung di belakang kaki saat hewan berdiri. Kejadian ini dapat disebabkan oleh berbagai faktor, seperti kurangnya aktivitas fisik ternak selalu dikandangkan, peningkatan tekanan intra-abdomen, distokia, kontraksi berlebihan, serta hipokalsemia. Studi kasus dilakukan pada seekor sapi Limousin cross di Desa Karangrejo, wilayah Puskeswan Gumukmas, Kabupaten Jember. Penanganan dilakukan dengan teknik reposisi uterus melalui palpasi dan dorongan perlahan ke dalam rongga abdomen. Pemberian anestesi epidural menggunakan injeksi lidocaine 2% secara intraepidural untuk mengurangi perejanan atau kontraksi saat reposisi uterus, serta terapi antibiotik Procaben LA dan multivitamin Biosan TP untuk mencegah infeksi dan mempercepat penyembuhan. Evaluasi dilakukan selama satu minggu untuk memantau kondisi sapi pasca penanganan. Sapi dinyatakan sehat dan berahi pada usia enam puluh hari setelah perawatan.
