Lusi Tunik Muharlisiani, M.Pd Keywords: scientific approach, degrees of comparison Scientific approach is a teaching strategy using scientific steps to improve the process of learning by breaking the process down into steps which contain detailed instruction for conducting student learning. Grammar is sometimes defined as the way words are put together to make correct sentences which focused on Degrees of Comparison. Comparison is the process of comparing people, things, or places through the level of quality, quantity, or relation which formed from adjectives and adverbs. This study is aimed to get the information about the implementation of Scientific Approach in teaching Degrees of Comparison of Adjectives to the English teacher in one class of VIIIH consists of 36 students in SMPN 46 Surabaya. The method used in this study was Classroom Research which the writer is only an observer and observed the English teacher in teaching process, and the atmosphere in the classroom. This study conducted the following procedures of stages based on Scientific Approach: observing, questioning, experimenting, associating, and communicating. The data gathering in this study through observation and documentation. The result of the study showed from the result of observation in five stages of procedures in Scientific Approach.
