Fiona, Alda Az Zahra. 2024.The Use of Comic Strips as a Media to Improve Students Reading Skill for Eightgrade of SMP Kawung 2 Surabaya Key Words : Comic Strips, Reading Skill, Narrative Text. The objective of this study was to enhance students' reading skill through the utilization of comic strips in narrative texts. This study examines how the utilization of comic strips can enhance students' reading skill. The study was carried out at SMP Kawung 2 Surabaya. The focus of this study was a group of 29 eighth-grade students. This study utilized Classroom Action Research (CAR). There were two iterations to provide the students with additional chances to enhance their skill of how to identify the primary idea and understand the content. The results indicate a significant improvement in the students' reading skill. The previous score indicated that 35.71% of students reached the minimum passing grade (KKM). In the first cycle, 58.62% of students successfully reached the KKM (minimum competency level), whereas in the subsequent cycle, the percentage increased to 86.20%. Comic strips can aid students in retaining knowledge and grasping the primary idea of the book they have read. Additionally, students can enhance their vocabulary through this medium. According to the findings of this study, the researcher suggests utilizing a comicstrips as a media for teaching reading skill.
