Abstract

ABSTRACT This investigation aimed to determine the presence of bacteriophages from swiftlet feces are isolated using the plaque test method. Twenty samples of swiftlet feces, ten samples of swiftlet feces from coventional swiftlet house (FK samples) and ten samples of swiftlet feces from mixed swiftlet house (FW samples), isolation for the nitrite-producing bacteria Lysinibacillus sp. are using the plaque test method. The results of the investigation is that bacteriophages from swiftlet feces could be isolated using the plaque test method with titre of 2,1 x 105 PFU/mL and 2,7 x 106PFU/mL, respectively. This study provide information about the bacteriophages can be isolated of nitrite-producing bacteria Lysinibacillus sp. using the plaque test method.
