Abstract

This study aims to analyzed the levels of calcium (Ca) and phosphorus in horse blood serum saddle horse and hack horses in Gili Trawangan. Twenty horses were used as samples, consisting of 10 male saddle horses and 10 male hack horses. Each saddle horse and hack horse were sampled 4 ml of blood through a jugular vein. Blood samples were collected in sterile tubes without coagulant, centrifuged at 8000 rpm for 15 minutes to separate serum. Blood serum was sent to a Mataram diagnostic laboratory for calcium and phosphorus analysis using Cobas® 6000c 501.The results of calcium and phosphorus levels on saddle horse serum blood with average calcium levels of 13,1500 ± 1,52188 mg / dl and mean phosphorus are 3,3210 ± 0,81554 mg / dl, while for hack horse obtained the average calcium level is 11,4200 ± 0,81894 and the average phosphorus is 2,9700 ± 0,70246mg/dl. Statistical analyzed using independent t-test showed no significant difference (P <0,05) calcium level on saddle horse and hack horse but no significant difference (P> 0,05) at phosphor level between saddle horse and hack horse on Gili island Trawangan.
