Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis ektoparasit apa yang ditemukan di sekitar telinga pada stray cat (Felis catus) di Kecamatan Wlingi. Penelitian menggunakan 30 sampel stray cat yang diambil keropeng, kotoran atau rambut disekitar telinga. Sampel diambil dari beberapa kucing liar yang memiliki keaadaan dan gejala klinis yang beragam. Identifikasi sampel menggunakan mikroskop dengan ditetesi KOH 10% dan menggunakan metode clearance untuk menjernihkan ektoparasit. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, dimana data yang dikumpulkan dijabarkan dan disimpulkan serta dipadukan dengan data pustaka. Hasil menunjukkan sampel yang diambil menggunakan cotton bud positif terinfestasi tungau Otodectes cynotis menunjukkan prevalensi sangat tinggi yakni 25 stray cat (83%). Pinjal Ctenocephalides felis menginfestasi 14 ekor stray cat (47%). Sampel kerokan kulit didapat 2 jenis tungau yakni Notoedres cati menginfestasi 9 stray cat (30%) dan Sarcoptes scabiei menginfestasi 6 stray cat (20%). Pada rambut sekitar telinga hanya 5 ekor stray cat terinfestasi kutu Felicola subrostratus (17%). Kata Kunci: Stray Cat, Ektoparasit, Telinga, Identifikasi, Wlingi The aim of this research is to find out what types of ectoparasites are found around the ears of stray cats (Felis catus) in Wlingi District. The research used 30 samples of stray cat that were taken for scabs, dirt or hair around the ears. Samples were taken from several stray cats that had varying conditions and clinical symptoms. Sample identification using a microscope by dropping 10% KOH and using the clearance method to clear up ectoparasites. This kind of research is qualitative descriptive research, where the data collected is described and concluded and combined with library data. The results showed that samples taken using cotton buds were positively infested with Otodectes cynotis mites, showing a very high prevalence, namely 25 stray cats (83%). Ctenocephalides felis fleas infested 14 stray cats (47%). Skin scraping samples obtained 2 types of mites, namely Notoedres cati infesting 9 stray cats (30%) and Sarcoptes scabiei infesting 6 stray cats (20%). In the hair around the ears, only 5 stray cats were infested with Felicola subrostratus lice (17%). Keywords: Stray Cat, Ectoparasites, Ears, Identification, Wlingi
