Abstract

The objective of this research was to describe how the use of Small Group Discussion can improve student’s reading comprehension after considering the situation and circumstance of English language in Indonesia as foreign language. The researcher aimed to formulate the procedures of teaching reading using Small Group Discussion method in relevant curriculum and discusses how to improve the student’s ability in Reading Comprehension after the writer reviewed several reading theories. In this paper, the writer using narrative text as source of learning and the concept of this method is learning by doing. The students are given the opportunity to gain experience by discussion with their classmate as a learning process.
