Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present how to teach vocabulary using total physical response method for junior high school students. Vocabulary cannot be separated from learning a new language. In teaching vocabulary, teachers must be able to teach in a simple, practical, and interesting way. The Total Physical Response method is considered an appropriate and useful educational. By using the TPR Method to teach vocabulary, teachers can help students know their meaning. Learning vocabulary using the TPR Method also assists students to remember the response in which teacher gives an example of physical movements and speech instructions, thereby increasing vocabulary retention.
