Abstract

Proctection of children must be carried out comprehensively, including children who are in conflict who are in conflict with the law. The issuance of the Juvenile Criminal Justice System Law (UU SPPA) is a state step in providing protection for children’s rights during the justice process for children in conflict with the law. The main problem in this research is to deepen how the implementasi of regulations on the role of social workers in assisting children who are in comflict with the law and what factors hinder social workers. This research uses a legal approach, namely examining laws and those related to the legal issue being researched to study whether there is consistency and conformity in law enforcement related to the research issue. This type of research is Empirical Legal Research (Judicial Empirical)/Non-Doctrinal becauce the researcher wants to know the implementation of the duties of social workers, Social Services in Nganjuk Regency. Social Workers are on of the parties who have the law as stated in the Juvenile Criminal Justice System Law. The duties of social workers are contained in article 68 of the SPPA Law, one of which is to provide social assistance. The results show the role of Social Workers. The results show that social workers provide more assostance to child wotnesses and victims of criminal acts. Implementation of assistance in cases of sexual harassment by stepfathers. Further assistance to children as victims of criminal acts, children who receive injuries are treated by medical officers first and then social workers restore the child’s mental condition due to trauma. In providing assistance, social workers also act as advocates, namely to provide advice to support, defend and protect the clien’s interests.
