Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimd to analyze the presence and absence of counterfeit fish brains replaced by sucker mouth armored catfish based on lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) levels in the city of Surabaya. The sample used for analysis is 16 samples from different traders in surabaya city. Samples were analyzed using AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer). Results of samples of fish brains containing positive lead (Pb) were samples of P3390, P3399, P3401, P3402, P3404, P3405, with pb lead concentration 1.05 mg / kg, 0.50 mg / kg, 14 mg / kg, 0.31 mg / kg, 0.15 mg / kg, and 0.17 mg / kg of about 31%, the cadmium content samples of P3391, P3392, P3396, P3402 with cadmium 0.038 mg / kg , 0.027 mg / kg, 0.02 mg / kg, and 0.06 mg / kg ie about 25% and the remaining 44% negative or not containing lead and cadmium, it can be seen that there are counterfeits of fish brains that traders sell in the city of surabaya.
