Abstract

Industrial activity in the district of Taman, Sidoarjo which produces liquid waste into streams, which then leads to a decrease in water quality. Kali Pelayaran have an important role that is to support and meet the needs of the community life, among others as a raw material for Drinking Water Treatment Plant (WTP), MCK activities, agricultural water resources and water resources fishery. This study aimed to describe the quality of the physical, chemical, water and heavy metal concentrations of chromium (Cr) in Kali Pelayaran Sidoarjo according to the water quality standards that have been established, using descriptive quantitative research methods. The sample used in the study was taken from Kali Pelayaran water at station I, II, III with 3 repetitions. The data captured includes physical parameters including pH, temperature. chemical parameters including BOD, COD, DO, and the concentration of heavy metals chromium (Cr). The results showed the average temperature at each station is (30oC, 31 oC, 31 oC), water pH (4.7, 5.2, 5.1), DO (2.77 mg / L, 2.8 mg / L , 2.8 mg / L), BOD (105 mg / L, 105.6 mg / L, 105.5 mg / L), as well as COD (182.5 mg / L, 182.5 mg / L, 182, 6 mg / L). Heavy metal content of chromium (Cr) in water at 3 stations Kali Pelayaran has an average of 0.94 mg / L, 1.11 mg / L and 1.12 mg / L has exceeded the threshold set in the Indonesian Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001 on the Management of Water Quality and Water Pollution Control in the amount of 0.05 mg / L.
