Abstract

Abstract: Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated Fishing (IUUF) crimes hadlongbeenoccurring both in Indonesian and other states. IUUF is the main cause of over-exploitation in several waters, both waters under national jurisdiction andhighseas. IUUF is an extraordinary crime because it involves many transnational parties. Theresearch method used is normative research method with statute and conceptualapproaches. The problem of this legal research is legal ef orts to reduce theIUUFand the complexity of the crime in the IUUF. The aim of this study is to findout whatcrimes accompanied by IUUF and find legal remedies to reduce IUUFandothercrimes that accompany them. The conclusion is that the majority of IUUFarefollowed by other crimes such as slavery, human traf icking, drug smuggling, andendangered animal smuggling. Ef orts that have been made include the ratificationofseveral international agreements, while what has not been done is toincreaseinternational cooperation in handling IUUF and the crimes followed.
