Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the accuracy of non-contrast USG and CT Scan in diagnosing fatty liver in Indonesian patients. Using a diagnostic test design with a cross-sectional approach, patients aged 40 years or older with laboratory examination results supporting NAFLD were selectively chosen from Dr. Soetomo Surabaya Hospital's Radiology Laboratory during FebruaryMarch 2020. The study found that there is no significant difference in diagnostic accuracy between non-contrast USG and CT Scan in detecting NAFLD. Moreover, the majority of patients with NAFLD were women, and the highest prevalence was observed in the middle age range of 40-49 years. These findings suggest that clinicians should consider these demographic characteristics when screening and managing NAFLD in their patients. The choice of diagnostic test should be based on factors such as availability, cost, and patient preference. Keywords: Fatty liver; diagnostic test; USG; CT scan; NAFLD.
