Abstract

This study aimed to examine the histopathological feature of chicken layer liver (Gallus gallus) given turmeric ethanol extract (Curcuma domestica val.) after infected with antigen Avian Influenza (AI). The animal samples were used 32 chicken layer with two groups of P0 (without turmeric ethanol extract 50%) and P1 (turmeric ethanol extract 50%). All of these treatments were infected with antigen Avian Influenza (AI). The sample of chicken layer was adapted first to the environment for 7 days and treated for 21 days. The type of research were used experimental research with selective sampling process. The organ samples were used processed into histopathologic preparations with Hematoxilin Eosin (HE) and observation were used a microscope with 400x magnification. The results showed there were denegeration hydropic and necrosis on liver organ. Based on data processing were used Kruskal Wallis test in SPSS for windows 20 program showed no significant difference (P>0,05) in histopathologcal feature of chicken layer liver (Gallus gallus) at each treatment, but based on calculation were used Mean Rank ± SE (standard of eror) indicates a decrease in the number of liver cells experiencing changes in the form of degeneration hydropic and necrosis. The conclusion of this research were that with giving of turmeric ethanol extract 50% able to reduce the amount of change and damage to chicken layer liver organ (Gallus gallus).
