Abstract
ABSTRAK Wardah, Diti Nabilah Masnuna. 2021. Pengaruh Pisang Kepok (Musa paradisiaca L.cv.) terhadap Penurunan Kadar Kolesterol: Narrative Review. Skripsi, Program Studi Pendidikan Dokter, Fakultas Kedokteran, Universitas Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya. Pembimbing: Loo Haryanto Raharjo, dr., M.Si. Pisang kepok baik buah maupun kulitnya memiliki zat aktif yang berfungsi sebagai penurun kadar kolesterol total diantaranya, Inulin merupakan zat dengan kadar karbohidrat dari unit fruktosa. Inulin mempunyai kadar polimeri lebih dari 30 serta terbias pada air dan etanol. Inulin mempunyai prosedur dalam mengurangi kolesterol. Prosedur satu yakni garam empedu yang memproduksi kolesterol dan proses emulsifikasi lemak dihambat. Vitamin C mempunyai efek dalam membantu reaksi hidroksilasi untuk pembentukan asam empedu hingga melorotkan jumlah kolesterol serta menambah laju ekskresi kolesterol. Pektin akan berikatan dengan kolesterol yang terkandung pada saluran pencernaan sehingga akan menghambat absorpsi dari kolesterol tersebut. Flavonoid merupakan zat aktif yang berfungsi melindungi tubuh dari zat bebas dengan menghambat peroksidase lipid. Serta mampu menurunkan kadar kolesterol total. Dari beberapa jurnal yang telah di review didapatkan bahwa bagian pisang kepok yang dapat digunakan sebagai obat penurun kadar kolesterol yaitu buah dan kulit pisang kepok. Pengobatan dengan pisang kepok baik dengan buah maupun kulit sebagai obat alternatif dalam menurunkan kolesterol total sudah terbukti. Namun masih dibutuhkan penelitian lebih lanjut perihal dosis dari buah atau kulit pisang kepok yang efektif digunakan untuk jangka waktu yang lebih panjang. Hal ini penting, karena kolesterol dapat naik sewaktu-waktu tanpa disadari penderita sehingga aspek ini perlu dipertimbangkan. Kepok bananas, both fruit, and skin have active substances that function as lowering total cholesterol levels including, Inulin which is a substance with carbohydrate content from fructose units. Inulin has a polymeric content of more than 30 and is refracted to water and ethanol. Inulin has a procedure for reducing cholesterol. The first procedure was bile salts that produce cholesterol and the fat emulsification process is inhibited. Vitamin C has the effect of helping the hydroxylation reaction for the formation of bile acids to lower the amount of cholesterol and increase the rate of cholesterol excretion. Pectin will bind to cholesterol contained in the digestive tract so that it will inhibit the absorption of cholesterol. Flavonoids are active substances that function to protect the body from free substances by inhibiting lipid peroxidase. It can also reduce total cholesterol levels. From several journals that have been reviewed, it was found that the part of the kepok banana that can be used as a cholesterol-lowering drug is the fruit and the skin of the kepok banana. Treatment with banana kepok both with fruit and skin as alternative medicine in lowering total cholesterol has been proven. However, further research is still needed regarding the effective dosage of kepok banana peel or fruit used for a longer time. This is important because cholesterol can rise at any time without the patient realizing it, so this aspect needs to be considered. Keywords: banana kepok, lowering, cholesterol levels.
